Participation in Eye Camp |

Youth United participated in a free Eye Camp organised by Chandigarh Administration under Partnership Initiative Programme. Youth United in association with the Health Department of Chandigarh is also actively participating for a campaign against female foeticide. This activity was a part of the same.
Under the partnership initiative program, the Chandigarh adminitration has come up with the project "Cataract free chandigarh" - an eye camp was organized in Satsang Bhawan, Sector 26, Chandigarh where free eye check up was conducted for the underprivileged sections of the society. Doctors from goverment hospital sec 16 were part of the program. Operative cases of cataract were also dealt with. The camp involved participation of various NGOs including Youth united, shubhkaran healthcare society and lions club. Youth united had on the occasion put up an awareness desk to sensitise the people about the growing menace of female foeticide. His Excellency Governor Gen S.F. Rodrigues and Mrs. Rodrigues were the guests of honour. They lauded the efforts of Youth united and gave us ideas for further improvement.
Satsang Bhawan, Sector 26, Chandigarh 13th September, 2009 from 9am to 3pm. Appx. 200 patients underwent eye check up. Event Gallery |
