Children are the future custodians of the nation, and thus providing them with a good social and educational environment is a goal ardently worked for by Youth United.
On the occasion of Children’s Day, Youth United organized a drawing competition at Pustak, a school for under privileged children at Sector- 25 colony. An interactive session was held wherein students were enlightened about why we celebrate children’s day and how they can contribute to make a better future for the world by reaching their greatest potential.
The winners of the competition were given prizes. This was followed by some fun filled games and later refreshments were given.

Youth united organized a signature campaign and a candle light vigil against ‘Hate Crime’ on 7th November at Sukhna Lake.
The event was aimed at spreading the message of peace and making people aware that they should abstain from such activities which are against national integrity.
A signature campaign was organized in which the members interacted with the people present on the occasion and made them aware of the various laws under constitution which promote equality(Articles 14,15,16,19and 21 of the Constitution of India). A letter signed by the masses was sent to the Chief Justice of India and the Prime Minister requesting them to intervene in such matters like the one in Maharashtra recently so that the sense of harmony and fraternity are maintained throughout the country.

Youth United had conducted an enthralling Rock ‘n’ Roll Dance workshop from 16th to 18th February, 2008. The workshop was conducted so as to make a presence felt amongst youth. The workshop was conducted on a no profit basis.

Youth United, as an honorary undertaking from The Adult Education Unit, Chandigarh Administration, conducted a survey among 283 Adult Continuing Education Centers and almost 40 Nodal Preraks, 283 Preraks and 1850 learners in these centers.
The survey was concluded with the functional inspection and assessment of these Centers. This report is the manifested documentation of the survey and the functional inspection done among these centers.
By the means of this report, Youth United shall also try to exert a pull on various other factors and problems pertaining to these backward sections of society (as reported by various learners), these problems being far beyond the scope of the original survey, which included factors related to educational problems and problems related to the amenities available in the Adult Continuing Education Centers. |
