What is Youth United?
Youth United (www.youthunited.in), is an Indian Social Enterprise, Non-profit and Non Governmental Organization(NGO) working for the betterment of society through the continuing efforts of the youth of the Nation, with the operational chapters in Delhi, Chandigarh, Patiala and soon to be operated from Bangalore.
1) Youth United on Wikipedia Objectives of Youth United The objective of Youth United is to encourage and foster the development of the youth of India and hence the development of society as a whole through its activities like periodicals, events, community Services and online portals. (Detailed Objectives) Within a short span of time, Youth United has reached a stage where it can really spread and foster its objective to develop the society in the best possible ways contemplating the weakest sections of the Society. Nevertheless, we are yet to travel a lot, to actually accomplish, what we intend to. (Vision, Mission Statement) Legal Status Youth United is an Income Tax exempted Non Governmental Organization, registered under Article 21 of the Societies Registration Act of 1860, India (View Certificate) and exempted from Income Tax under section 12A (View Certificate) and 80G (View Certificate) of Income Tax Act of 1961, India. Founder Members and List of Officers & Executive Members Divisions of Youth United Youth United functioning is divided into 3 sections 1) Youth United Community Services (Youth United Event Management): being the most prominent section of Youth United, takes up activities in the form of events and activities, whatsoever may lead to the development of any form in any section of society, making the youth realize their responsibility towards society and country.
Community Services Division has organized various events and activities, for the cause of various sections of the society in the past 2 years, primarily giving emphasis to the cause of Education, Poverty and Female Foeticide through its flagship events Smiling Future-I and Smiling Future-II (Click here for details Smiling Future, Smiling Future-II) and through its flagship project Youth United Mass Education and Awareness Mission (YUMEAM). (Click here for details YUMEAM, YUHEAL-I, YUHEAL-II ) Besides these, Youth United has organized various events, whose details can be found here (not updated to date though) Youth United has also conducted various major Surveys, either as a part of YUMEAM or as an undertaking conferred to it by the Government Authorities.
2) Youth United also publishes a monthly print tabloid 'United Colors of Youth' (earlier known as Youth 360 and YoU), now registered with the RNI, New Delhi, with the circulation of around 20,000 copies in Delhi and Chandigarh. View Online version of tabloid
How does Youth United work?3) International Youth Portal (under construction): Youth United possesses an International Youth Portalwww.youthunited.in. The basic mission of this Youth Portal through its forum is to bring together the Youth of the world on a common platform and hence to work for the graduated effectuation of Youth United aims and objectives and hence for the development of Society. Youth United 3 sections are further classified on the basis of area, function and hierarchy. Area wise, currently, Youth United is functioning in Chandigarh as Chandigarh District Chapter, Delhi as Delhi State Chapter, Patiala as Patiala District Chapter with further sub-divisions in all major colleges in those districts and states, known as college chapters.
There are 4 kinds of executive designations in these 3 bodies (in order of the decreasing hierarchy): Officers, Managers, Members, and Volunteers, who are deputed across various departments and chapters. Officers (Governing Body) are elected positions, while Managers and Members (Executive Body) and Volunteers (General Body) are recruited positions. Function wise, there are 8 mainstream departments in each district chapter: Publication, Event Organizing, Legal Affairs, Treasury and Finance, TechCreation, Public Relations, Human Resources, and Marketing. Hierarchy wise, Youth United working is divided into 3 legal bodies: Governing Body, Executive Body and General Body. Every executive except a volunteer has been entitled with the same privileges as the officers, yet the difference lies in status in hierarchy, powers and duties.
